Concrete & Stone Care
Maintenance
Exposure to long periods of rain, pollution, and sunlight and temperature extremes will accelerate the wearing of the protective sealer and cause the appearance of the concrete surface to wear. We strongly recommend resealing your top every 6 to 12 months with our Stone/Ceramic Protector available in-store or on our website.
However, when the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius, if water has penetrated the concrete table/bench, you might experience issues with ice expansion which would destroy the table/bench. Resealing properly right before every winter with water-based sealant is strongly recommended to avoid cracking.
Cleaning
Clean your concrete product as you would to an exotic natural stone surface such as marble or onyx. For general clean up, use warm water and soft or microfiber cloth to clean the surface.
For stubborn surface soils or stains, use a mild household cleaner or liquid soap (containing no abrasive, chlorine/bleach, or ammonium). We recommend using our Multi surface cleaner available for purchase in-store or on our website.
Please note: General food preparation and spills will not stain the concrete as long as the protective sealer coating is maintained. However, spills should be cleaned as soon as possible, maximum within 12 hours. Since concrete is a porous material, water ‘spotting’ may occur, but generally disappears after it has time to evaporate.
Recommendations/Caution
- Do not drag your table. Lift from both ends and place down carefully as not to damage the edges or the leg attachments to top.
- Do not stand on the table.
- Do not to hit the table with hard objects
Wood Care
Maintenance
Please note: All wooden products needs to be kept under a covered patio
The maintenance of wooden products can be done in 2 different ways. You can either choose to oil your set regularly or to put a sealant/varnish on your set once a year. For detailed description of each, please refer below.
Cleaning
Use a dry, clean cloth to dust your furniture weekly and help maintain its lustre and prevent staining.
For Maintenance and Care using oil:
Please remember that when you oil your set for the first time the natural colour of the wood will come out (Some sets will have natural flames/grains that will come out). The colour may darken or have a wet appearance all depending of the type of wood.
For the first 6 months your set needs to be oiled every month with Woodoc Patio Oil or any other treatment oil with a wax base. Important note: Use oil that is colourless.
Thereafter the set needs to be oiled every 2nd month.
Since wood is living and breathing, it expand and contract due to weather conditions and we strongly recommend tightening bolts and screws during the winter months.
For Maintenance and Care using a sealant/varnish:
We recommend using Rystix Sealants which come in 2 options: Namely water based and solvent based.
Water based: We recommend 2 initial coatings on untreated wood or clean wood. Thereafter application will range from 6 months to 9 months depending on the exposure to weather conditions. This product has a matt appearance.
Note: Before re-application the set needs to be cleaned thoroughly, we recommend washing your set with sugar soap.
Recommendations
Solvent based: We recommend 2 initial coatings on untreated wood or clean wood. Thereafter application will range from 9 months to 12 months depending on the exposure to weather conditions. This product has a glossy appearance.
Note: Before re-application the set needs to be cleaned thoroughly, we recommend washing your set with sugar soap.
